The Traditions Days are held again in Mogán from November 1 to 5

After a mandatory break in 2020 due to the pandemic, the 'Days of Traditions' return to Mogán from November 1 to 5 for what will be its twenty-second edition. The El Mocán Folkloric and Cultural Association promotes the activity with the sponsorship and collaboration of the Mogán City Council. On this occasion focused on sharecropping in the south of Gran Canaria.

The 22nd edition will begin on Monday, November 1, All Saints' Day, with the traditional Noche de Finaos in Sarmiento y Coto square in the historic center. Starting at 19:30 p.m. the smell of roasted chestnuts will permeate the atmosphere and neighbors who wish to do so will be able to share a pleasant evening outdoors remembering those who are no longer here.

The facilities of the El Mocán Folkloric and Cultural Association will host the cherry workshop from November 3 to 5, from 18:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m., which will be taught by fellow residents of the municipality Emilio García and Alexis Rodríguez. The president of El Mocán, Paco Rodríguez, points out that this workshop wants to reach each of the groups and neighborhoods that participate in the Pilgrimage-Ofrenda to San Antonio El Chico, so that they can learn to make their own ceretos and use them in the carts that parade through the streets of the historic center every June. Although it is available to all those who wish to attend. To participate, you must register in advance before November 2 by calling 646 603 937.

On Friday, November 5, at 20:30 p.m., the documentary 'Aparceros' by Jesús Almendros will be screened at the El Mocán Cultural Center, and then the conference 'Shareshare farming in the south of Gran Canaria' will take place, which will feature the speaker Pedro José Franco López, awarded in 2020 with the Roque Nublo Folklorico de Gran Canaria.

The Mogán City Council collaborates with human, material and technical resources, in addition to the corresponding subsidy, thus supporting these 'Days of Traditions' whose purpose is to create a training space that allows the transmission and dissemination of Canarian customs in the municipality through different activities.
