Tirajana: Las Palmas continues to remove land from Conde and Bonny

This June, the General Directorate of Energy has granted the administrative authorization and the declaration, specifically, of public utility for the high-voltage electrical installations called New Barranco de Tirajana III 220 kV substation and underground line for the transmission of electrical energy at 220 kV, double circuit, Barranco de Tirajana II - Barranco de Tirajana III dated June 15, 2023. On January 20, 2023, REE presents to this General Directorate of Energy a reasoned request to declare the general interest of the projected facilities.

This land is preceded, once again, by land owned by the Bravo family of Laguna and the Bonny group, the latter with wealth of land from supporting the Franco regime in 1936. The business group of the Bravo family of Laguna They remove from 1.873 square meters for the underground line and 1.774,85 for the aerial section.

The procedure began on August 29, 2022 by Red Eléctrica de España (REE) after the approval of the Official College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Las Palmas. What has been planned is the construction of a new 220 kV substation, called Barranco de Tirajana III. The creation of the 220-meter-long double-circuit 875 kV electrical energy transmission line is planned, originating in the new projected substation and ending in the current Barranco de Tirajana II substation.
