The Maspalomas Summer University will begin this Monday, June 26, the training program of its 31st edition, with more than 25 courses and workshops that will be held until July 21, in different spaces in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The opening ceremony, which will take place at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, at 10:30 a.m., will be attended by the mayor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez; the rector of the ULPGC, Lluís Serra Majem; Councilor for Culture of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Elena Álamo Vega, and the director of the Maspalomas Summer University, Germán Santana Pérez.
Next, the professor of Prehistory at the ULPGC, Amelia Rodríguez Rodríguez, will offer the conference 'Archaeology of the indigenous populations of Gran Canaria. Current status and future prospects.

On Sunday, July 2, the Maspalomas Lighthouse esplanade will host a special concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Arteara as BIC, with the work 'Cantos Isleños', performed by the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra, under the directed by Rafael Sánchez Araña, accompanied by a choir of more than 100 people.
