Before resolving the pairings, Carlos Dávila, Director of the Maspalomas Cup, was very happy to once again give the opportunity to thousands of Canarian children to enjoy their passion: football. “We continue with great enthusiasm, the excited faces of the players and seeing so many families having a good time with the rest of the teammates is something that fills us with satisfaction. We really want to see the ball rolling and for the Maspalomas Cup 2023 to be a celebration of Canarian football,” he commented.
“Our goal is to make an event that everyone comes to enjoy. This year there will be more than three thousand people experiencing the Canary Islands football festival in Maspalomas,” added the head of the year's tournament on the island.
Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, Mayor-President of the municipal corporation of San Bartolomé de Tirajana wanted to share what this competition inspires him: “I remember the excitement of the first edition and how it has evolved.” “Sport is life. In this tournament, not one person always wins, all those who have good behavior and represent the values of this competition win,” defined the mayor of Maspalomas.
“The Maspalomas Cup is a source of pride and satisfaction for the federation. "Many children want to compete in this football festival," commented José Juan Arencibia, President of the Inter-Insular Football Federation of Las Palmas, who also wanted to reveal that "there is a great human team behind this entire organization, since it is a tournament of great responsibility and their experience supports them.”
On the other hand, Pedro Díaz, President of the Technical Committee of Referees of Las Palmas, has taken the opportunity to share that the Maspalomas Cup "is a tournament that also serves to train referees to have to deal with pressure and emotion." After these words, the draw presented by Daniel Calero, which included Armando Gil (Coca-Cola), Laura López (Tirma), Abian Serrano (Joma Canarias) and Miguel Escuder (Libby's) as innocent hands, was experienced with maximum excitement in person at The Harrow Sport Bar in Maspalomas and also through the Rodagon Sport YouTube channel under the watchful eye of more than 10.000 people.
