The new government coalition in the south of Gran Canaria has started working since this month of June. The first control and analysis measures of the previous management, that is, knowing the inheritance received, have begun to form part of the meetings with technicians. For now, as it could not be otherwise, municipal staff has begun to facilitate the process of transferring power in the face of the new style of command of the AV-PP and CC coalition. This 2023 they must submit budget execution reports to the Audience of Accounts of the Canary Islands that have been requested since March.
Municipal sources indicated to Maspalomas24H that "at least there is no need to make didactic transitions" since "what has arrived is a highly experienced team that knows perfectly well where the failures are, based on the papers and meetings that they are beginning to have with officials ".
Among other pending issues, the AV-PP and CC coalition must resolve the comprehensive management of the Service for Patients with Alzheimer's and other Dementia, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana for 750.572 euros, which is in the evolution phase. Also on the table is the contracting of two policies, on the one hand, life insurance for all municipal staff workers and members of the corporation of the Illustrious City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, for a value of 150.000 euros.
The new municipal authorities want to accelerate budget execution in everything that is logical, freeze and review what is not urgent, and develop changes that adapt to the change in political direction. In the south of Gran Canaria, the low-polluting emissions zone must be launched in 2023 and begin to reinforce the presence of Tirajana in the island's tourist agenda.
