The Canary archipelago suffers a curious phenomenon that adds to the haze and the heat wave that marks maximum temperatures on the islands
A few weeks ago we saw on the news the shocking images of the New York sky completely dyed orange due to the fires that occurred miles from The Big Apple, specifically in Canada. What one could least think was that this event that seemed so distant could affect the Canary Islands.
However, that's how it has been. As reported by the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium, the smoke from the Canadian fires has crossed the Atlantic Ocean and is notable in both Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Although experts have stated that it is not a worrying amount, the fact that it is mixed with haze can amplify the adverse effects.

The presence of haze makes this phenomenon a curiosity, so it is not expected that more waste of this type will reach other islands. Precisely, the haze is notable these days in the archipelago, so it is recommended to follow the instructions of the experts and pay special attention to risk groups.
