MASPALOMAS24H Sunday, July 02, 2023

It is aimed at people of all ages, especially those over 50 years of age, who will have the opportunity to train in the use of new technologies.

It will be taught from July 3 to 7, in the afternoon, at the Sociocultural Center for the Elderly of San Fernando

La XXXI edition of the Maspalomas Summer University offers the course 'Learn to use social networks and navigate the Internet regardless of your age', which will be taught, from July 3 to 7, by experts in New Technologies, Sociocultural Center for the Elderly of San Fernando de Maspalomas

People who decide to register, since there are still places available, will be able to learn, for example, how to create an email account on Google, how to use very practical applications such as 'Maps' (maps to locate places) and 'Calendar', download and send photos and videos of family and friends, use email or create and browse some of the best-known Social Networks.

They will also be able to learn how to create online word processing documents, in addition to knowing how to attach files to their shipments and even how to edit their downloaded photos to create more original creatives, actions with which they will become increasingly familiar with the digital environment.

Interested people can register at this link on the official website: https://www.universidadveranomaspalomas.org/materias/125/. The Course will be taught by three expert speakers in communication and New Technologies, who will teach the subjects and answer all questions. It is recommended to attend classes with your own device (mobile phones, tablets and computers) so that you can learn to use them easily.

“With this training we want to combat the digital divide that exists, bringing new technologies closer to generations that were not born with these advances,” commented Iris Rivero, expert in New technologies. “People of all levels can attend, even those who are starting from scratch in these subjects.”

In this way, students will be able to more easily carry out many tasks that today are only offered through digital resources, such as making an appointment at the Canarian Employment Service or Social Security, or knowing how to get to an address using Google Maps, knowing at the same time the bus itineraries and the different possible routes.

The other two speakers of the course are Luis Aymerich and Diana Martín, who have proven experience in the digital world and new information technologies, as well as in teaching.
