Nueva Canarias warned in the last plenary session of the lack of a report from the auditor in the file and that the matter was left on the table
The lack of a report from the auditor means having to fully approve the salaries of the mayor and councilors again.
In the last extraordinary and urgent plenary session, held in the town halls of Mogán on June 23, 2023, the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, submitted to the Corporation's consideration the establishment of the members' remuneration regime of the government group, including the mayor herself.
In this matter, Nueva Canarias, through councilor Juanma Gabella, who acted as spokesperson in this plenary session, warned the secretary that in file 7560/2023, which established the remuneration of the corporate members, there was so much missing the report of the municipal Comptroller, as well as the corresponding credit reserve that proved that the salaries of the members of the Onalia Bueno government were in accordance with the legal requirements established, among others, by the law of rationalization and sustainability of local administration.
The absence of this report, which implied a violation of article 214.2 letter a) of the Local Finance Law, represented a flagrant omission of the prior intervention of any act, document or file capable of producing rights or obligations of economic content. by the municipal auditor, which motivated the councilor of NC-bc, Juanma Gabella, to request that the file remain on the table to be brought back in the next plenary session in full with the necessary reports.
To the surprise of the NC-bc councilors, the Mogán government ignored the councilor's warnings, refused to leave the file on the table, and consummated the approval of a salary increase of almost €11.000 in the case of Onalia Bueno, and more than €2.800,00 in the case of the rest of the councilors of the government group.
However, the government group, as it has expressed in the Informative Commission of Central Services, has now taken into consideration the demonstrations in Nueva Canarias, assuming its postulates and agreeing with the nationalist formation, to to resubmit in the plenary session to be held next Friday, July 7, the file by which the government salaries are established, now including the prior and mandatory report of the auditor to comply with the provisions of the Law of Local Estates.
With this rectification, it is proven that Nueva Canarias was right in this matter, and that it studies the issues and goes to the plenary sessions to carry out a critical opposition respectful of the procedures, focused on guaranteeing the legal security of the files. and in the defense of the general interest of all neighbors.
NC-Bc recommends that the government group abandon frenzy and oppose the opposition, and be able to understand that all councilors represent, in one way or another, the residents of Mogán.
