The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria highlights the important benefits that the event brings in terms of the projection and economic activity of the entire Island

Leopoldo Mansito predicted an attendance of more than 50.000 spectators, double that of the previous edition whose economic return amounted to 15 million euros.
The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, highlighted today the benefits brought by the celebration of the Gran Canaria Live Fest in the capital of the Island, "which affects its image and its projection, and which results in its activity economic", he highlighted, during the visit he made to the facilities of the Insular Stadium where, this Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8, the event will take place, with the participation of Rosalía, Maluma, Sebastián Yatra, Moral, Manuela Carrasco and Lola Índigo, among other artists. The producer Leo Mansito and the Cabildo have agreed that the festival will be held for the next four years with the commitment that the production company will finance the renewal of the grass after the event, with the importation from Fuerteventura of rolls that will allow for the quality of grass from the best stadiums in Europe.
President Morales, who was accompanied by the Presidency Advisor, Teodoro Sosa; The mayor of the capital, Carolina Darias, the island's Sports Councilor, Aridany Romero, and the producer of the show, Leopoldo Mansito, highlighted that, in recent years, Gran Canaria is becoming a reference island in the world. of both national and international entertainment, given that it is hosting extraordinary events. A very positive situation in which the important role played by institutions was highlighted. "The promoters tell us so," he said. "Without the participation of institutions, it would be much more difficult to launch an event of this nature."
He also mentioned the special effort that is carried out regarding security, in which he stated that the insular Corporation always places special emphasis. "The protocols established by the Cabildo for this type of events indicate this," he explained. "The obligations that we assume are contemplated and also the requirement for the companies with which we participate that these violet points of attention exist, because security is essential. That of the inside and that of women," he stressed.
Finally, when asked by the media, he also referred to the level of conservation of the grass in the State of Gran Canaria, to point out that it has already been planted and will be in perfect condition for the start of the League. And he added that an agreement has been reached with the Las Palmas Sports Union and with the event promoter, so that, in the next festivals, a different system will be used, in which the grass will be of the highest quality and will be imported in rolls thanks to the initiative of a Majorera company, so it will no longer be necessary to wait for the plantation and fear its possible conditions, "so that each and every one of us does not feel comfortable and so that these facilities serve to accommodate a Unión Deportiva in the First Division and a festival of these characteristics, which is also in the First Division," he concluded.
Dynamism and life for the capital
Carolina Darias made clear the enthusiasm with which the capital hosts this event, since "it is a very important economic, cultural, artistic and musical boost and, above all, it is dynamism and it is life." He praised the great stature of the artists participating in the show and expressed his confidence that they can remain in the city in future editions, "because it means that Las Palmas de Gran Canaria opens up to many people who come from the rest of the Islands." , the Peninsula and international destinations, and represents a very important milestone to continue promoting this city, so that they come to visit us and enjoy it," said the mayor of the capital.
The producer of the event, for his part, assured that the expectations that were had with this edition have been more than met, since the tickets have practically been sold out, which will mean that more than 60.000 people will enjoy the two days of the festival, with 24 hours of live music, with world-class international artists and outstanding leisure and restaurant experiences.
Leo Mansito also predicted a very beneficial economic impact for the city. "Last year it amounted to more than 15 million euros of social return and, this year, as attendance has doubled, it is expected to be well above that amount," he predicted. Finally, he said that "in the Canary Islands there has never been anything so powerful in terms of technical means", since the festival will have more than 350 square meters of LED screens, more than 250.000 watts of lighting and more than 150.000 watts of sound.
