The College of Insurance Mediators of Las Palmas that Jennifer Hernández Ajeno has held in the south of Gran Canaria the IV Conference of Insurance Mediators in the Canary Islands, in order to establish a common space for debate on this profession and its challenges based on the crisis current state of the domestic economy. The opening was made by José Ramón García Aragón, chief magistrate of the Court of First Instance 7 of Las Palmas.
Among the challenges of this professional group is the thesis of Javier Barberá, president of the General Council of Mediators, who has stated that “the insurance marketing model in the future is already marked today.” In Barberá's opinion, “the direct marketing model is not going to be prevalent, since the client is the one who decides when and how to relate to your company through or not a mediator. "Whoever claims that the winning model is one or the other reflects a profound ignorance about user behavior, but, above all, about their experience as a customer."
Barberá, during the meeting of the Permanent Commission of the General Council, the president of the Mediators indicated that “the insurance sector is not betting on the direct model, to the detriment of its commercial network of agencies and brokerages. It uses it within its commercial mix as another channel available to the user to respond to a specific type of need at a given time, without excluding others. In fact, the vast majority of insurance in Spain is contracted through mediators in any of its modalities.”
On the other hand, in Las Palmas on June 8, the sponsorship agreement between AXA Seguros and this school was renewed. During the signing, they talked about current events in the sector, how these changes affect mediation professionals and how to deal with day-to-day changes. The signing was attended by the director of the Central-Canary Islands Corridors Channel, representing AXA Seguros, Laura Paniagua Laguna and Santiago García Toledo, director of the Canary Islands Corridors Zone; the president of the College, Jennifer Hernández Ajeno and Nélida Díaz García, member of the Governing Board.
