Gran Canaria prepares for temperatures that will be around 40 degrees

 

 

Territorial scope:

• The situation is updated, moving to Maximum Alert on the island of Gran Canaria. It will especially affect the Tejeda basin, the medians facing south and west, as well as the southeast coast of the island. Minimum temperatures will remain very high.

 

• The Alert situation is maintained in the rest of the archipelago.

 

• 41 ºC may be reached in the midlands of the west, south and southeast, and the Tejeda basin in Gran Canaria.

 

 

High temperatures return to Gran Canaria with maximums close to 40 degrees. This situation has caused the AEMET to activate the yellow warning for maximum temperatures on the island for this Tuesday. 

 

The haze will also make an appearance at the beginning of this week. It will be noticed with moderate intensity in the easternmost islands and will be accompanied by a rise in temperatures. On the island, the sky will be clear, with few cloudy intervals. Minimum temperatures of 22 degrees are expected throughout the island and maximum temperatures can reach 35 degrees, even reaching 37 tomorrow, Tuesday.

 

 

The AEMET recommends taking measures to avoid the effects of high temperatures, such as staying hydrated, seeking shade and cool places when outdoors, and paying special attention to children, the elderly, and people who need special care.
