High temperatures will be much more intense in Gran Canaria during the next two days
It is forecast that the heat will persist in Gran Canaria this Thursday. The southern half and the mountainous areas of the island are under a yellow warning by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) due to high temperatures. Last night, temperatures above 30 degrees were reached on the island, making it difficult for many to sleep and rest.
From 10:00 this Thursday until 20:00, the situation will worsen, since the warning will change to red for southern, eastern and western medians. The thermometer is expected to reach 41 degrees in various points such as the Tejeda basin. The north will be under a yellow warning, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 36 degrees.
For their part, the rest of the islands will be under a yellow warning, with some areas under an orange warning. During the next night, from 20:00 p.m. today, Thursday until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, the southern half and the mountainous areas of Gran Canaria will once again be under a yellow warning, suffering another night with temperatures around 35 degrees.
