The Carmen Festival in Playa de Mogán starts with a program full of activities

 

This morning the program for the Playa de Mogán Carmen Festival was presented, which will take place from July 16 to 30.

 

 The mayor, Onalia Well, accompanied by the Councilor for Events, Culture and Celebrations of the Mogán City Council, Mencey Santana, in a warm atmosphere next to Mogán beach, he wanted to publicly thank all the people who have participated in making the festivities possible. “We have a great program, varied, diverse, for all ages,” said Santana. 

 

 

With the Carmen Festival in Arguineguín that culminate this week with the maritime procession, those of Playa de Mogán, which differ from the previous ones by being more welcoming and familiar, a festival where neighbors from all the neighborhoods get together to enjoy the Canary Islands. 

 

The Councilor for Events, Culture and Celebrations assured that as a novelty this year "a senior day has been created with a show called 'Laughter with Tequila, Sal and Lemon by Mariachi Peleón and Matías Alonso'." For her part, Onalia Bueno highlighted that “this culminates the month of Cármenes in both the sailor neighborhood of Arguineguín and Mogán beach.” 

 

This year the program is dedicated to Josefa Alonso, “one of the oldest residents left in Mogán Beach, a lady who recites a lot, with a great memory,” the mayor maintained. Mayor Bueno maintained that this program “is not intended only for residents, but for all those tourists who visit us and who are loyal to Mogán Beach in the summer.” 

 

Highlights within the program are the mass and land procession that is celebrated on the Day of Our Lady of Carmen as the start of the festivities, as well as the Marine Gastronomy Fair. The zanga, cinquillo, dominoes and ludo tournament will also be present for all neighbors willing to participate, regardless of age, as well as traditional games such as handkerchief, the sack race or the treasure hunt, activities that encourage neighborhood coexistence.
