A woman with signs of drowning is evacuated by helicopter from a beach in Gran Canaria
A 65-year-old woman who, at the initial moment of assistance, showed signs of serious drowning, was evacuated by rescue helicopter along with a medical team to the helipad of the Dr. Negrín University Hospital and, from there, by ambulance. medicalized from the SUC to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
At 11,52:24 a.m. this Sunday, October 1, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-2-XNUMX of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert requesting assistance for a woman who showed signs of drowning. and he was already on the shore of the beach.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The lifeguards on the beach confirmed that the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until they recovered her.
The medical team from the health center and the SUC continued with their assistance and stabilization, preparing for their urgent evacuation.
The Civil Guard collaborated from the beach by establishing a safety zone for the landing of the GES helicopter, which was in the area carrying out some exercises, and which was referred to this emergency.
The affected person was transported by the GES helicopter, in the company of the health center's medical team, to the helisurface of the Univ. Dr. Negrín Hospital where a medical ambulance was waiting for her to be transferred to the Insular Hospital.
Local Police and Civil Protection collaborated with emergency resources.
