The center-right Popular Party has defeated the socialists of President Pedro Sánchez in Mogán but the socialists have won in Tirajana. The three Las Palmas deputies from the PSOE and the three from the PSOE pulled from the south of the island to win their seats. Nueva Canarias was left at the gates and CC has managed to consolidate its soil in the south of the island.
Spain's right-wing opposition Popular Party (PP) won Sunday's early general election, with more than 99,8% of votes counted, but would fall short of a parliamentary majority. The PP and President Pedro Sánchez's Socialists (PSOE) obtained 33% and 31,7% of the votes, respectively, the results showed. This would give the PP, under leader Alberto Núñez Feijoo, 136 seats in the 350-seat lower house, the Congress of Deputies and the Socialists 122 seats.
The PP now requires the support of several minor parties to achieve a government majority of 176 seats, so the result is likely to produce weeks of political maneuvering. Vox, which offered to partner with the PP, was scheduled to win 33 seats. But with 169 seats, the PP would still be missing seven seats. The remaining matches are mostly region-specific. The two Catalan independence parties, which voted in favor of a Sánchez-led government earlier, saw their number of seats fall, but can still play the role of kingmaker if Sánchez tries to remain prime minister.
