The tension experienced during the campaign has not been carried over to an election day that has been quite calm in the archipelago but has left various anecdotes on the peninsula.

Two months of campaigning, polls, debates and speculation are over. This Sunday's election day has put an end to the hasty and unexpected electoral campaign that was launched since the general elections were announced on May 29, just one day after the municipal and regional elections, which has meant that The country has been in an electoral phase for almost four months.

This Sunday's election day took place calmly on the islands, without any known incident other than the uncomfortable wind from the southeast of Gran Canaria that annoyed the voters who approached their polling station on foot; However, on the peninsula the day has been somewhat busier. During Sunday morning, an incident was reported in the San Isidro tunnel that suspended traffic between Madrid and Valencia and left the station practically disabled, leaving more than 9.000 travelers affected. Furthermore, due to the time of year and it being Sunday, traffic jams have been recorded in various parts of the peninsula, with delays of up to ten kilometers on the A-49 and AP-4.

Although what has left most of the election day have been curious stories and anecdotes. Without going too far, in Arguineguín, the businessman Raúl Castañeda was served by four waiters at the electoral table that he had to preside over having hired a catering for that day, something that surprised the voters and his table companions, who also took advantage of the feast. In the rest of Spain there were also multiple anecdotes, such as a drag queen presiding over a polling station in Madrid, a voter in Malaga going to exercise their right to vote with diving fins, the mayor of Saldaña in Palencia going to vote dressed as a Roman emperor due to the town festivals or the record of the Rioja town of Villarroya, where All the neighbors gathered from the opening of the polling station to vote in 26 seconds and exceed the time achieved last 28M.
