The renowned businessman Raúl Castañeda starred in one of the most curious anecdotes of the national election day in the south of Gran Canaria
Raúl Castañeda, CEO of Preico Jurídicos, was one of the protagonists of those anecdotes from election day that always bring a smile when reflected in networks, newspapers or news programs. In this case it was something less common than what has been seen in previous elections, in fact you could say that it was something unprecedented in an electoral college: Castañeda hired a catering service to spend the long election day in which he had to be president of the polling station. .
To the surprise of their table companions and the voters who came to the IES Arguineguín to exercise their right to vote, four waiters were serving a table where they could find such select dishes as strawberry gazpacho, quinoa salad or cod fritters. Castañeda documented the day through his Instagram account (@el_gran_preicano) where he made his assessment of the electoral participation and showed how he also ordered a fan to be brought to the table so that he and his companions could cope better with the election day in the hottest hours.
The businessman stated on his social networks that he had reasons not to attend his appointment as table president since he had a vacation booked, but that he nevertheless decided to do so since it is an experience that he wanted to live once in his life. On his social networks, Castañeda shows himself as a defender of the blank vote since he considers it to be one of the ways to achieve a fair electoral system.
Castañeda's story is one of those that could pass for a Hollywood movie script. The businessman, a native of Catalonia, found himself bankrupt and sleeping in a warehouse with his family, a victim of usury. For that same reason, he decided to document himself and look for ways to end this practice, a path that led him to form Preico Jurídicos, a law firm specialized in this type of practices valued at 135.000.000 euros, which has led him to be recognized in Forbes. Castañeda already starred in another anecdote in the summer of 2021 when he left 4000 euros as a tip in a restaurant in Marbella.
