On December 4, the fourth edition of the Mogán Open Water swim will be held
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 27 at 20:00 p.m., the registration period opens for this sporting event whose distance of 4.600 meters scores for the Canary Islands Open Water Cup of the Canarian Swimming Federation.
The calendar of Mogán sporting events continues to add dates. The Mogán Open Water, organized by the Mogán City Council with the technical coordination of Top Time, returns with its three usual distances, all with a finish line on Las Marañuelas beach. The 2.100 meter one will start from Anfi del Mar, aimed at people over 14 years of age; the 4.600 meter one, for adults, from Puerto Rico; and the 10.100 meter one, preferably for federated members, from Playa de Mogán. In total there are 500 places available and from 20:00 p.m. tomorrow it is possible to register on the website www.moganenmovimiento.com. The deadline will be open until 23:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 28.
The Councilor for Sports, Luis Becerra, reports that the one on December 4 will be the last to be held of all those that are part of the Open Water Series and emphasizes that it is possible to celebrate this swimming trip in the middle of winter due to the excellent climatic conditions of the municipality. . “It is a luxury to be able to bring together 500 athletes in the month of December with an average temperature of 24º degrees and, in all probability, a clear sky and calm waters. Without a doubt, this makes us a unique and very attractive destination for practicing sports,” he points out.
Likewise, he assures that the Department he leads has taken cruising speed with regard to the organization of events. “Hand in hand with clubs or directly promoted by the City Council, since it has been possible for us after the pandemic we have started moving and an example of this is that from October to the end of the year we will have held eight sporting events,” indicates the mayor.
