Caixabank has granted more than 1.700 million euros to the national hotel sector, with the Canary Islands among the communities that will receive the most money from these operations
The Canary Islands are one of the communities that have benefited the most after the multimillion-dollar capital injection that Caixabank has made to the national hotel sector. In total there are more than 1.700 million euros that will be allocated to reforms, financing, sustainability projects and other tasks and needs of the tourist complexes that receive this economic boost.
Of those 1.700 billion, the archipelago will receive 184 million euros so that the beneficiary tourism entities can undertake the actions they consider appropriate in their resorts on the islands. The concession operations amount to 1.300, with the Canary Islands positioned as one of the main beneficiary communities along with Catalonia, Andalusia and the Balearic archipelago, with a total of 68 operations.
In this way, Caixabank Hotels&Tourism (tourism subsidiary of the banking entity and member of the World Tourism Organization) increases the total amount of concessions by 11% compared to the previous year in the archipelago. A series of operations that, together with other movements within the sector, suggest that tourism in the archipelago (both as a whole and by islands) will soon reach numbers that will far exceed those recorded in years prior to the pandemic.
