New Governing Council of Tourism of Gran Canaria

In its first extraordinary session, the entity approves a modification of the Strategic Plan for Tourism Subsidies of Gran Canaria worth more than 1,2 million euros

This Wednesday morning, Gran Canaria Tourism established its new Governing Council, which includes representatives of all the political groups that make up the Island Corporation and representatives of the tourism business sector, as established in article 11.1 of the Tourism Statutes. from Gran Canaria. In the extraordinary session, a modification to the Strategic Plan for Tourism Subsidies of Gran Canaria worth more than 1,2 million euros was approved. 

 

The island councilors who are members of the new Gran Canaria Tourism Governing Council are:

In addition, the Governing Council has several members from the business sector, such as the president of the Canarian Confederation of Businessmen (CCE), Pedro Ortega Rodríguez; the president of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Las Palmas (FEHT), José María Mañaricua Aristondo; and the president of the Tourism Commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Santiago de Armas Fariña. 

 

 

Modification of the Strategic Subsidies Plan

 

In the extraordinary session of the Gran Canaria Tourism Governing Council this Thursday, a modification for new actions of the current 2023 Strategic Subsidy Plan, for a value of 1.298.025,45, was also approved, with the aim of subsequently submitting to the Plenary Session of the Cabildo. XNUMX euros.

 

This item is intended to subsidize three actions: 214.000 euros for the celebration of the 'Gran Canaria Phoenix Ecofest 2023' event, organized by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council; and two items of 534.025,45 and 550.000 euros, respectively, for the execution of the tourist infrastructure projects 'Pedestrian Conditioning from Arguineguín to Patalavaca' and 'Rehabilitation of Calle Veneguera in Puerto Rico', both actions corresponding to the Mogán City Council.
