Last Thursday, August 10, the mayor of the Ingenio City Council, José López, and the Councilor for Public Health, Rubén López, received in the town halls the new board of directors of the Regional Assembly of the Red Cross that covers the municipalities of Agüimes, Ingenio and Santa Lucía de Tirajana, with the purpose of knowing their main lines of work and showing the support of the local institution in as many actions as possible.
This was stated by the first councilor of Ingenio, José López, who also showed his commitment to holding a meeting with the head of the Provincial Red Cross to reinforce and transfer the agreements and projects to be implemented by the Regional Assembly, which he now presides over. the engineer Florencio Cruz.
At the meeting, Cruz put on the table what the tasks of the new work team will be that tries to recover the Red Cross activity in the region and mainly in Villa de Ingenio "which is not only supported by the food bank but also by the recruiting volunteers and launching new social, relief and emergency projects and external collaborations,” he said.
For his part, the Councilor for Public Health in the Ingenio City Council, Rubén López, wanted to congratulate the new management team to whom he informed that the area he directs will support the continuity of the activity at the Ingenio headquarters "so that it recovers what that it was in the past and provided aid and collaboration programs with entities and citizens.”
