At 14:10 p.m. the Civil Guard was alerted by 112 about an emergency that had occurred on Medio Almud beach where two minors were bathing there and could not return to the beach again due to the strong waves.
Immediately, the Río Tambre patrol boat arrived at the scene to see how the children had been in the water for an hour trying to get out and found themselves in an area of exhausted stone breakers and enduring waves almost two meters high.
They were also able to observe how a jet ski had overturned trying to rescue us without success due to the danger of the waves and proximity to the rocks.
Faced with this situation, the SMP patrol boat immediately approached this area and proceeded to throw a lifebuoy with a lifeline to reach the minors, who could be rescued from the sea and later transferred to the port of Puerto Rico without them having suffered. injuries.
After being cared for on board the Civil Guard patrol boat and having been provided with water and some food, they disembarked at around 15 p.m. in the port, where the Puerto Rico Civil Guard - Mogan took charge of accompanying them to the location of some responsible parents or legal guardians who take care of them.
