The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Emergencies, ends the alert situation due to maximum temperatures in the Canary Islands starting at 08:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16. All islands remain on pre-alert status.
Remarks:
Episode from rough seas to strong waves. On the west and south coasts of the islands, south and south-west swell of 1 to 2 m with high energy and, on the open coasts to the north, north swell, also of 1 to 2 m, combined with general wind from the north or northeast, 50 to 61 km/h (force 7).
It coincides with a time of spring tides, which could amplify the effects of rough seas, potentially causing damage to bathers, and incidents to coastal infrastructure, especially on open coasts to the south and west. Possible flooding in coastal avenues cannot even be ruled out, especially coinciding with high tide (high tide).
