The sports facility remained closed since the declaration of the coronavirus pandemic
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council reopened the sports facility of the Tunte municipal gymnasium on the afternoon of this Monday, August 14, as a public service.
This sports facility, fully equipped and located in the civic center of the Las Lagunas Recreational Park, remained closed and out of service since the declaration of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid 19).
The Department of Sports directed by the fourth deputy mayor, Ramón Suárez Ojeda, recovers the activity of this service on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday, from four in the afternoon to nine at night.
The reopening of the public gym has been received with great acceptance by the residents of the historic center of the town and the surrounding neighborhoods, who had been demanding it from the City Council since the state of alarm was ended in June 2020.
“Recovering the Tunte gym could not continue to be delayed any longer, because it is a true healthy leisure alternative for the inhabitants of the upper area. This is a service that makes it possible for young people and adults of all ages to have resources to play sports and stay in shape, but also to carry out those recovery and rehabilitation processes that neighbors may need,” says Ramón Suárez.
