The Civil Guard has provided the definitive version of the accident that occurred on August 4 in Pasito Blanco, where a motorcycle and a car collided on the GC-500, costing the motorcyclist his life. Although it was initially suggested that the accident could have been caused when the motorist attempted an overtaking maneuver on a two-way road with changes in gradient that made visibility difficult, the investigations by the Civil Guard ruled out that The events happened that way.

After studying the scene of the accident and having the statement of a witness who witnessed the event, the Civil Guard has come to the conclusion that the accident occurred when the car involved in the collision was entering the road after making a U-turn. at a bus stop. A change of direction for which he crossed the continuous line of the road and which he entered without taking sufficient precaution, which caused the motorist to brake suddenly to avoid impact.

 

Although the motorist braked when he saw the car entering the road, he could not avoid the impact and collided with the rear of the vehicle, being thrown several meters above the car. The witness confirmed this version and completely discarded the one that was initially given, in which the cause of the accident was attributed to the motorist's attempt to overtake a van. In addition, the witness added that less than a kilometer away there was a small square where the tourist could have made the U-turn safely.

 

Jonás, 44 years old, was on his way to work at a hotel in Meloneras at the time of the accident. Despite the efforts of the Canarian Emergency Service personnel, who moved to the scene of the incident as quickly as possible, he ended up dying due to the injuries caused by the collision.
