The Department of Economy, Finance and Contracting of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, led by Alexis Moreno (CC), has awarded 14 contracts in two months to supply and provide service to the different councils and departments of the Tirajana town hall. In total, the awards total more than 3,6 million euros, which cover needs in different areas such as the Department of Social Services and the Mayor's Office, which manage to provide continuity to the Transportation service through vehicles adapted for Day Centers. of Dependent Seniors of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the comprehensive management of the Alzheimer's Disease Care Center and other dementias; as well as the Catering Service for the Day Stay Center for the elderly and for the Day Center for Alzheimer's and other dementia patients. The three contracted services represent a financial outlay of 2,2 million euros.
Other areas that have been reinforced with the awards made are the Fire Fighting and Rescue Service, whose personnel have been waiting since 2022 for the supply of clothing and footwear; and that they will also incorporate into their equipment a Light Urban Bomb Vehicle, for extinguishing fires, especially indicated for areas with narrow streets; and a Various Rescue Van which has material for rescuing trapped people, for approaching the fire in the presence of smoke, for actions in case of spills or leaks of chemical products, for small shoring and emergency shoring, among other services. ; Both awards represent a total investment of around 1,1 million euros.
Among other services awarded, the Life and Accident Insurance Policy stands out, which had been expired since 2018, accumulating forced extensions for five years. The mayor of the area, Alexis Moreno, wanted to congratulate the Contracting and Intervention staff for the “agility with which they have processed these awards that allow continuity to the areas to which they are destined.”
The first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal, highlights the work of Moreno, whose work “is fundamental” to restructure services. In this sense, Marichal points out, “we are dedicating these first months of mandate to promoting those contracts that are necessary for the proper functioning of the Administration and to the reorganization of council departments and services, in order to guarantee good service to the medium and long term. citizens.”
