The renowned director of the H10 Meloneras leaves a gap in the archipelago's tourism sector with his departure
Miguel Corbatón, director of the H10 Meloneras, one of the most recognizable and frequented tourist accommodations in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, has died. Corbatón had been in charge of the management of H10 Meloneras for more than ten years, managing to position the accommodation in the south of Gran Canaria at a national and international level with recognitions such as the “Environmental Champion” awards granted by the German company TUI, a leader in the tourism sector, or various awards granted by the TripAdvisor platform, which in 2018 included the H10 Meloneras in the Top 10 of the “most excellent” hotel chains in the world.
The commitment to gastronomy in his hotel was another of its great characteristics, the Gaudí restaurant, where signature cuisine stands out, has received various recognitions, nominations and awards at the national level. Even a few years ago, Televisión Española traveled to the H10 Meloneras to record one of its programs in the accommodation facilities.
Miguel's departure leaves a huge gap in the Canarian tourism sector, where many cry and lament the loss of a very beloved colleague who throughout his career fought for the tourist, social and economic development of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and, therefore , from all over the Canary Islands.
