Free buses for the Offering of the Pine from SBT

 

The Department of Celebrations and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana town hall has opened the registration period so that the residents of the municipality can attend the offering of the Pine pilgrimage in Teror, free of charge, through public transport. Thus, starting today, Monday, August 28, pilgrims who wish to do so have the opportunity to attend the offering that is made, like every September 7, on the eve of the festival of the Virgen del Pino in the Villa Mariana of Teror.

 

As explained by the mayor of Celebrations and Events, Yilenia Vega (CC), the objective is to “facilitate the mobility of our neighbors to Teror, encourage their attendance and participation so that La Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana remains represented by our people.” This tradition, Vega continues explaining, “is more deeply rooted among the oldest people in our municipality and their few options to get around limits their attendance, in this way we give our neighbors the opportunity to attend and, in turn, we contribute to "that the influx of private cars damages or clogs the access to Villa Mariana."

 

Places on the available transport can be reserved from today until next Monday, September 4th at 12:00 pm, via email to festejosyeventos@maspalomas.com and dramos@maspalomas.com ; by calling the Department of Festivities and Events between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, at 928 72 34 00 EXT.1535; or at the Carmelo Pérez Cultural Center in El Tablero, between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at 928 72 34 00 EXT.180. The starting points and departure times will be El Tablero (11:00h), Maspalomas (13:00h), Castillo del Romeral (12:30h), Juan Grande (13:00h), Cercados de Espino (12:30), El Pajar (13:00), Fataga (10:40h) and Tunte (11:00).

 

 

 

 

 

 

The pilgrimage offering to Our Lady of Pino is scheduled to begin at 15:30 p.m., from Castañero Gordo to Plaza del Pino, with 21 carts representing all the municipalities of Gran Canaria taking part. The return time of all enabled transport will be at 21:30 p.m.
