This August, the Youth Department of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has started the procedures to help young people in the south of Gran Canaria to generate discounts for youth when traveling. To this end, the department headed by Elena Álamo will provide advice to young people on how to access the European Youth Card, which will have a 10% reduction on tickets operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum.
The European Youth Card program in the Canary Islands, dependent on the General Directorate of Youth of the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families of the Government of the Canary Islands (CC), and the IDEO Canarian Youth Foundation have signed an agreement with the Iberia airline to offer discounts to island youth when traveling.
The agreement is part of the program's strategy to support and facilitate youth mobility on the islands. In this way, those who have this card will have a 10% discount on tickets operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum. The regional measure that is implemented with municipal advisory measures allows adding a 10% discount that can be used for young people from Tirajana who return to their islands during the summer and Christmas periods. The discount is compatible with that of residence in the south of the island.
