Ecotourism Fair on September 2 and 3 in Mogán

The second edition of the Ecotourism Fair, September 3, will be held within the Mogán Avocado and Mango Fair

 

The Mogán City Council is finalizing details for the second edition of the Ecotourism Fair, an event that will take place on September 2 and 3 with the firm objective of showing and highlighting the municipality's potential for ecological tourism. Designed for professionals, tour guides, receptionists and managers of tourist complexes, owners of rural homes and businesses in the midlands, or activity companies, this fair is the opportunity to create synergies between the different sectors of ecological tourism, committed to Mogán and that shows a rich municipality from coast to summit. 

 

The second edition of the Ecotourism Fair will be held within the Mogán Avocado and Mango Fair, with two days of activity that seek to strengthen and give movement to the business fabric and the local economy linked to inland, sustainable and ecological tourism and thus exposing the peculiarities, strengths, gastronomy, folklore, flora, fauna, protected spaces, archaeology, geology, and history of Moganera and those who are capable of informing and transmitting them to their clients.

Within the Ecotourism Fair, on September 2, activities will be held to bring together some of the proposals that the municipality has, with guided routes through the natural environment of Veneguera, to learn about the fauna and flora or the history and historical heritage. 

 

On September 2, several activities will be carried out within the Ecotourism Fair programming, including the Spirit of the Sea whale watching experience, or hiking through the privileged environment of Veneguera. 

 

There will also be an approach to the archaeological values ​​of Mogán with the guided tour of the Cañada de Los Gatos, and the visit to the Fishermen's Guild to learn more about the traditional craft of fishing and the professionals linked to it.

With the aim of highlighting the landscape of Mogán and the nature that surrounds it, this first day of the Fair will include the informative project Títeres Reserva de la Biosfera, an entertaining and educational experience of learning to value the natural benefits of the municipality with professionals qualified. 

 

For its part, on Sunday, September 3 and integrated into the Mogán Avocado and Mango Fair, the Ecotourism Fair will continue in the tents installed in Plaza de las Gañanías in Playa de Mogán, an exhibition space where professionals from The different and varied sectors of ecotourism will have the opportunity to bring their activity closer together and create synergies between all attendees, reinforcing and enriching quality products and services for a unique customer experience. 

 

The mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, has highlighted that this Mogán Ecotourism Fair is “a decisive commitment within the Tourism Sustainability Plan to diversify the offer in the municipality” and that in this way “it is not only sun and sand, but "to know what the diversity of the interior of the municipality of Mogán is." 

 

Along these lines, he has highlighted the municipality's trail route and the importance of publicizing all the products of Mogán, as well as what the future of ecotourism in the municipality will be. As of today, he recalled, the tender for the Veneguera hostel and the Barranquillo Andrés hostel is already on the City Council's contracting portal and in the coming weeks the publicity for the contracting of the oil mill work will also be carried out. in Veneguera, among other projects, such as the restoration of the Windmill, which “is a symbol of the municipality of Mogán” as well as La Cañada de los Gatos, which “delves into the history of our ancestors.”

The Mogán Ecotourism Fair seeks to “value everything that is the ethnographic, heritage and gastronomic value of the municipality of Mogán” for which it has invited people to participate and join the activities, on September 2 and 3, coinciding with this occasion with the Avocado and Mango Fair held in Playa de Mogán.

 

This Fair is framed in the action plan of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in the Destination of Mogán “Sea, Mountain and Sky”, financed by funds from the European Recovery Instrument 'Next Generation EU', Recovery and Resilience Mechanism affected by the Plan of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience and Recovery Aid for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe.
