The replacement has a cost of about 14.000 euros and totals 894 pieces of equipment in all municipal offices and facilities, including schools and training and cultural centers, sports facilities and public spaces.
Starting this Wednesday, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is proceeding with the complete renovation of all manual fire extinguishers in each and every one of the municipal buildings and facilities.
The old and expired extinguishers that are being removed, no longer operational due to the loss of validity of all their properties, were expired since January 1, 2020, since their last review occurred a year before, specifically on January 30, 2019.

The renewal of this equipment, distributed throughout all departments of the municipal administration and present in all public facilities dependent on the City Council, has been a decision adopted by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, from the Department of the Presidency, " to provide municipal infrastructures with security for workers but also for those managed”
The replacement of these new portable fire extinguishers acquired on a rental basis for all work and public service centers of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has begun in the Municipal Offices.
894 equipment
In total 894 fire extinguishers are being replaced. The replacement work for the expired equipment is being carried out by the company Incendia Group through a minor supply contract worth just over 14.000 euros.
The renewal and replacement of fire extinguishers includes the 18 sports facilities of the municipality (stadiums, sports cities, sports centers, pavilions, and swimming pools); the 23 training and educational centers (schools, El Salobre Specialized Care Center, daycare centers, Music School, Official Language School, Compulsory Education Centers, the El Tablero Training Center and the Adult Education Center ); the 17 municipal facilities (Casa Condal, Casa Saturninita, machinery warehouse, tourist information offices, Social Work Units, El Pajar Exhibition Hall, Carnival Office, Youth Center, garage and municipal vehicles, and the supervised housing of Castillo del Romeral).
Also included in the fire extinguisher renewal contract are the fifty public spaces that the City Council brings together such as parks, squares, cultural centers, senior centers, Roads and Works warehouses, Mobile Park, Parks and Gardens, Local Police Station, Museum of Arteara, pensioner clubs and the municipal center for new technologies and data processing of the Consistory.
Once this renovation, which is being carried out urgently due to the expiration of the previous ones, is fully completed, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council intends to put out to public tender the supply of inspection and replacement of fire extinguishers with a greater periodicity of service.
