The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana gives up the facilities of the El Tablero Sports City so that Education can launch the first official Physical Conditioning Technician course in a public center in the municipality. It starts with 40 students and the waiting list already reaches 80

 

The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has decided to support the official implementation of the Higher Level training cycle in Physical and Sports Activities in this municipality, granting the IES El Tablero I Aguañac the shared use of the sports facilities and equipment of said town so that it can Teach technical and practical classes. 

 

This municipal transfer of the El Tablero Sports City to launch the first Physical Conditioning Technician (LOE) course has been reflected in a collaboration agreement that was ratified this Monday by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez and the director of the IES El Tablero, Esther Villanueva Fernández, in the presence of the municipal secretary and the councilors of Sports, Education and Culture, and of Urban Planning and Municipal Heritage: Ramón Suárez, Elena Álamo, Esther Delgado and Davinia Ramírez, respectively.

 

The collaboration agreement, considered by the mayor “of great public interest”, is already active for this year and will be formally valid for four academic years with the possibility of being extended for another four additional years. The Sports City facilities that the Institute will use are the Municipal Swimming Pool, the two rooms for directed activities and functional training, and the multipurpose field. 

 

The IES El Tablero, which is responsible for the entire organization, development and control of the activities of the training cycle, is committed to the good use and care of the facilities and not to interfere in the public service that the Department of Sports has been providing to the users. from the same. For this purpose, it has been established that the students of the cycle will have 20 hours per week of use during school hours from eight in the morning to two in the afternoon, and in group shifts of only 10 students to meet the quality criteria.

 

High expectations

 

This first official Physical Conditioning Technician course that is launched in a public educational center in San Bartolomé de Tirajana does so with great expectations, with a total of 40 students already enrolled and a waiting list that rises to 80. 

 

The second deputy mayor and councilor responsible for the area of ​​Education and Culture, Elena Álamo, highlights “the great possibilities that this initiative offers to the young students of the municipality, because it offers a different curricular output that is highly in demand and they will no longer have to travel to Telde to take it in a public center.”

 

The director of IES El Tablero I speaks in identical terms. She states that for the Aguañac educational community this collaboration agreement “is a brutal step and the fulfillment of a dream, because it allows us to grow and increase the educational offer of public education in El Tablero and in the municipality.”
