As a result of the surveillance that the Civil Guard carries out on the coast of the island and the quick action of the media and personnel of the Las Palmas Command, it was possible to prevent the unloading of the drugs on the Tasartico beach in the early hours of Monday, 04 September
A total of 30 bundles were seized, including some on the beach already disembarked from the inflatable boat to be transferred and those that the perpetrators of the criminal act would have had to leave before the imminent arrival of the Civil Guard.
The Civil Guard of the Las Palmas Command, within the framework of the TICOTAM operation, has arrested two people between the ages of 40 and 60 for a crime against public health due to drug trafficking. Upon detecting a pneumatic boat, it It approached the coast of Gran Canaria in the southwest area, possibly loaded with a large amount of drugs.
The events occurred at dawn on September 04, when the Civil Guard detected a suspicious entry along the southwest coast, which is why a security device was activated with numerous troops and means such as the Río Tambre patrol boat, Citizen Security Agents and components of the Judicial Police who went to Tasartico beach.
From the coast, the Maritime Service patrol boat detected the inflatable boat approaching the beach when it began intervention maneuvers, to initially dissuade the unloading operation that was being initiated by several people arriving at the beach in several vans.
As a result of the coordination between the Civil Guard units and the rapid intervention of all those involved, it was possible to intervene in all the bales of the stash that were partly on the beach already disembarked from the inflatable boat to be transferred and those that would have The perpetrators of the criminal act had to leave before the arrival of the Civil Guard.
Furthermore, the Civil Guard was able to gather information about how the unloading was taking place, proceeding to intercept and arrest the driver of one of the cargo vehicles, in which part of the drugs were being carried.
All the police investigations carried out led to the identification of a second related person who was arrested on September 06, thus ending the investigation so far with more than 800 kilos of hashish seized and two detainees, not ruling out new arrests for these events in the next dates.
