The residents of both towns, especially the young students and the elderly who participate in the Popular University of the South, appreciate the recovery of a necessary public service
Since this Thursday, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has reopened the cultural centers of Juan Grande and Pancho Guerra, in Tunte, which were closed without any explanation during the previous legislature, leaving the population of both towns without essential cultural services.
SEE CULTURAL PROGRAM
The reopening of these two cultural centers, carried out thanks to the efforts of the second deputy mayor Elena Álamo Vega and the delegate councilor for Culture, Esther Delgado Sánchez, will allow the residents of Tunte and Juan Grande, especially the most young people, have access to the same services as the rest of the large populations of the municipality.
The main victims of the closure of these two cultural centers, practically a few months after the 2019 local elections, were precisely the young students, who from now on are guaranteed the recovery of free access to libraries, study rooms and cultural dynamization in their own areas of life.
On the other hand, as happened with the recent reopening of the Tunte public gym, the recovery of the service of the two cultural centers has also become a reason for general happiness for the neighbors, especially for the elderly and middle-aged people. who regain the possibility of registering and participating in the courses and workshops taught by the Popular University of the South, an organization that has headquarters in all the cultural centers of the municipality.
The Councilor for Culture, Ester Delgado, reports that the cultural centers of Juan Grande and Tunte open their doors with official hours from four in the afternoon to nine at night until next October 10, and that from that date their Operation will be extended until ten at night.
