Nearly 70 agri-food producers and companies related to renewable energy and sustainable mobility will show their products and services at these fairs that are expected to attract nearly 10.000 people.
Next week, the Plaza de la Candelaria in Ingenio will host the fairs of the Km.0 Gran Canaria – Sureste Fair and the Feria del Sol, which will be held simultaneously with the aim of giving visibility to local companies and producers that work in two sectors. strategic such as energy and agri-food, but also to raise awareness about the importance of being increasingly sustainable.
Last year both fairs were held, also simultaneously, in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, which in line with celebrating this event every year in one of the three municipalities that make up the Southeast Region, this year passes the baton to the municipality of Ingenuity.
In recent years, the Feria del Sol has become a reference meeting point for the clean energy sector in the Canary Islands. Continuing “with the commitment decided by the Commonwealth of the Southeast for clean energies,” in the words of the mayor of Santa Lucía, Francisco López.
This year, 8 companies related to renewable energy and energy efficiency will participate in this forum, providing services and products such as solar thermal panels, photovoltaic solar panels, sustainable construction and decoration elements, etc. In addition, there will be the presence of another 13 companies related to mobility and sustainable transportation, as well as vehicle manufacturers and distributors who will present 17 cars and 8 motorcycles to attendees, all of them 100% electric. The Feria del Sol will also show the latest trends in charging points, drones and electric skateboards. As for the Feria km.0 Gran Canaria – Sureste, it returns to the Sureste region with the aim of giving visibility to local products and producers. “It is a family fair, an exhibition of local products to give opportunities to our agri-food producers and knowledge of our products,” explained José López, mayor of Ingenio, host municipality of these meetings.
The Fair, which is held periodically and traveling throughout all the municipalities of the island, highlights quality agri-food products: fruits and vegetables, wines, breads, cheeses, honey, oil, salt... a wide variety of products of fifty farmers and producers who will be present at this meeting.
With the celebration of this fair, the Commonwealth seeks not only to boost the local economy by promoting the consumption of local products, but also to encourage behaviors that help sustainability through consumption and to support those who with their daily work help preserve the landscape.
