The students of the Youth Painting Workshop exhibit their creativity at the Casa de Saturninita

The collective exhibition, of surprising quality, was inaugurated this Thursday and will remain on display until October 6

Starting this Thursday, the Casa Saturninita Art Center hosts the collective exhibition of the works carried out by the students of the Youth Painting Workshop of the Municipal School of Visual Arts of San Bartolomé de Tirajana during the 2022/2023 academic year.

The exhibition, inaugurated by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, is based on a thoughtful selection of the free-themed works that the young people from 13 to 17 years old from the Workshop have made in acrylic on canvas, watercolors and ink on paper, during the last year of the training process.

The paintings, around thirty, can be viewed until next October 6. They are presented in different formats and sizes and are the personal artistic expression of Daniel Budina, the sisters Catalina and Camila Barón Godoy, Ariadna Suárez Martín, Joseph López Gómez, Yanira Cáceres El Majdoubi, Iraya Rodríguez Montesdeoca and Laura Álvarez Martín.

The delegate councilor for Culture, Esther Delgado Sánchez, congratulated the students of the Workshop for their “enormous creativity” and invited them to “continue training with rigor and enthusiasm in the acquisition of greater technical resources, to be able to express their artistic visions of the most personal and socially convincing way,” he said. In fact, for many young participants in the Workshop, the Municipal Art School is the prelude to their subsequent educational projection both in the Baccalaureate of Arts and in the Fine Arts faculties of Spanish universities.

The Youth Painting Workshop of the Municipal Art School, tutored and taught by the artist Fracisco Guillén Abrante, is aimed at learning and consolidating different artistic techniques so that students can express their ideas and experiences, their personal vision of the world and its reality, through pictorial procedures. In that sense, in this collective the young students have faced the canvas and blank paper without using any reference image. The exhibition surprises with the emerging quality that many of the creations possess.
