Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida returns consolidated as an international reference for swimwear

The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales; the Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso; and Ana Rodríguez, director of GCSW by Moda Cálida, have revealed the keys to the 16th edition of the catwalk

This edition is made up of 33 designers and brands, of which 11 are international, from countries such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Israel.

All citizens will be able to enjoy the parades on the new GCSW by MC terrace at ExpoMeloneras

The Cabildo of Gran Canaria and IFEMA MADRID have today revealed some of the main novelties of the new edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, which will begin on October 5 and will last for three days of fashion shows, until October 7. October. The catwalk celebrates its 16th edition this year, although the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program, promoted by the island council, has been active for 27 years. The event will take place at the ExpoMeloneras site in Maspalomas.

 

The keys to the catwalk, the only one in Europe in its category and an international reference in swimwear, were announced by the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales; the Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts, Minerva Alonso, and Ana rodríguez, catwalk director.


Gran Canaria Swim Week 2022 by Moda Cálida renews its commitment to new talents and emerging brands, as well as established brands, which make up a catwalk characterized by bringing Gran Canaria iconography closer to trendy swimwear fashion. The event promotes talent and is a unique showcase to present collections created based on criteria of sustainability, quality and trendy design. 

 

In this edition they participate 33 designswearers and brands. Of them, 10 are canary -8 from Gran Canaria and 2 from La Palma-, 5 peninsular and 11 international, from the countrycountries such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Israel. Prestigious figures such as Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Dolores Cortéso Aurelia Gil, continue to contribute their expertise to a catwalk to which companies with a high level of design and prestige, committed to sustainability and focused on a young audience interested in fashion, join year after year.

 

To bring the event closer to all citizens, in this new edition the parades can be followed on a large screen from the new GCSW by MC terrace at ExpoMeloneras. In this space, enabled so that anyone who wishes can closely follow the event and its parallel actions, there will be a gastronomic area and an area chill out.

 

Three days of parades

 

During the opening day on Thursday, October 5, the parades of the Pin Up Stars (Italia) Alexandra Miro (UK), pomeline (La Palma, Spain), Sugar bread (France), Dolores Cortes (Spain), Diazar Atelier (La Palma, Spain), Gottex (Israel), Gisela. (Spain), Miss Bikini (Italy) and Nuria Gonzalez (Gran Canaria, Spain). GCSW by MC Influencers

 

The catwalk will also be attended by influencers and opinion leaders on social networks who will share their experience at Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida with their respective digital communities. Among them, Pelayo Díaz, one of the most prominent male influencers on the national scene that crosses borders. Priscila Betancourt, Marta Ibrahim, Yaiza Mencía, Gema Betancor, Emiliano Pernia, y Minerva Hernandez They make up this year's group of invited influencers.

 

 

Big names in fashion like Lorena Durán, Desiré Cordero or Grace Quaye

 

A casting of models will parade on the catwalk diversecosmopolitan y multiracial, made up of models from the Canary Islands, national, and international. This casting specialized in swimwear is made up of 35 models in total: 24 girls (10 of them are Canarian models), and 11 boys (of which eight are Canarian). Leading the cast of national and international models are names such as Lorena Duran, Desiré Cordero, or Grace Quaye, among other names, and reference male models such as Nacho Penin, Simone BricchiAngelo Gómez, Yorgos Paraskeva, Jorge Rodes, or Jabel Balbuena, among others.

 

GCSW by MC Awards

 

Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida reinforces its commitment to swimwear with the presentation of three awards focused on promoting the work of designers. These recognitions will be made to the Best Collection -sponsored by Louzao Mercedes-Benz-, to the Best Sustainable Collection-sponsored by MaredaMare and CyL-, and Best Collectionn Emerging-sponsored by Mahou 5 Estrellas. The three awards will be presented on Saturday, October 7 at 19.30:XNUMX p.m. after the Sanjuan parade by the president of the Cabildo, Antonio Morales.
