The Minister of Economic Development meets with the group of artisans to present the innovations she has planned in this legislature to “modernize Fedac and continue promoting the sector”
The Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, He met on Tuesday with the artisans registered with Fedac to explain to them the planning of this new legislature for which decisions have been made with the aim of "modernizing Fedac and contributing to continuing to improve the health of the sector," as he told them in this meeting in which he announced that, from now on, Infecar, as an organization specialized in the organization of fairs, will be in charge of Craft Fairs. "The idea is that they contribute their knowledge and specialized personnel to improve the objective of the fair, which in the end is to attract more and more people and increase sales."
Thus, Fedac will progressively withdraw from marketing and in the meantime, as the counselor explained, it will undergo internal changes, starting with the renewal of its image, to "modernize and continue improving and promoting its capacity to serve the sector."
In another vein, the counselor also announced changes to the subsidy model, which will be unified around two single lines: town councils and associations; or the intention to introduce artisans into educational centers, so that, just as they currently do through city councils, they can give courses that bring crafts closer to the young population, in this case schoolchildren.
In addition, she spoke for a long time with the artisans, listening to the demands, proposals and generally collecting the feelings of the group, which raised questions such as transferring to the city councils the proposal that they always ask at fairs and exhibitions to organize the Fedac quality seal, to guarantee that they are distinguished in these spaces.
