The classic Frantz & Friends starts

The extraordinary gardens of the Casa de los Músicos estate, in Monte León, will become one more year, from this Thursday until next October 7, the natural setting for the Frantz & Friends Festival of classical music organized by the famous pianist and German orchestral conductor Justus Frantz.

 

In this edition, the Finca Festival's musical program will once again have the piano as the main instrument. The concerts will have Justus himself as performers, who will offer works by Beethoven and Johannes Brahms, and very young musicians such as his son Konstantin Frantz, who will also offer pieces by Beethoven, Ravel, Chopin, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Liszt; the Russian concert pianist Zarina Shimanskaya, who will dedicate her repertoire to Rodión Shchedrin, Stravinsky and Sergei Prokofiev, and the American Angel Wang, only 20 years old and winner of the 2022 Jaén Piano Prize, who will delight attendees with pieces by Enrique Granados, Liszt, Debussy and Maurice Ravel. The participation of maestro Wanja Rudin, awarded in Taiwan, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Greece, and whose repertoire, specialized in Tchaikovsky and Rachmanninov, remains a surprise for the Finca Festival audience, is also scheduled to participate.

 

 

In the presentation of the Festival, Frantz, who just a few days ago achieved quite a resounding success in his first solo concert at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, described this cultural event as his annual gift to the island of Gran Canaria. For his part, the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, emphasized the singularities of the Festival, from its celebration in an extraordinary natural and landscape environment to the excellent range of musicians and cultural personalities who join it. to participate and enjoy classical music. He also alluded to the generational change that the event is experiencing, which is joined in each new edition by very young musicians of enormous potential and talent selected by the German maestro. “This makes San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Maspalomas a cultural reference point every year during the celebration of the Finca Festival,” he stated.
