The Councilor for Personnel of the Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Elena Álamo, expressed this Wednesday the role of job security in order to strengthen the tourism offer in the south of Gran Canaria. The event took place at the Princess Hotels Canarias with the collaboration of Asepeyo.
Prevention is not bureaucracy, but rather a joint, permanent action that includes techniques, training and motivation of personnel, along with controls that guarantee correct implementation. Álamo made this consideration at the World Tourism Day event organized by Asepeyo with the so-called committee of wise men, the Hospitality and Tourism Working Group, on emergency and evacuation plans. Julio Umpiérrez, deputy chief of the Tirajana Fire Department, was present at the event.
In his words, Álamo pointed out "tourism excellence starts from the training that employees have, including in matters of prevention, guaranteeing accommodation as a safe destination." For their part, Asepeyo technicians agreed to point out that "if prevention and absenteeism impact more and more on all companies, the impact on the Hospitality sector is even greater, since it must address hiring peaks (temporary/ holidays), conferences and events".
Asepeyo has pointed out that it is necessary to take extreme safety and health measures for workers, which becomes an undisputed priority for the company in general and, even more so, for those that base their trajectory on the quality of service. Added to this is also avoiding the consequences of any accident. "Prevention is not bureaucracy, but rather a joint, permanent action that includes techniques, training and motivation of personnel, along with controls that guarantee correct implementation," the company said.
