The subsidy, of 60.000 euros, is intended to meet the daily needs of 100 homeless people
Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias and the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, through the Department of Social Services directed by Mercedes Díaz, renew an agreement to provide continuity to the Center for Reception and Promotional Intervention with Homeless People (CAIPSHO).
The CAIPSHO Project has a long history of caring for homeless people, becoming over the years an indispensable resource for caring for and supporting homeless people.
Its actions contribute to combating poverty and maintaining a minimum standard of living for those citizens most in need through a “day service” designed to cover basic needs such as food, hygiene and personal care of the people accompanied 365 days a year. These actions are complemented with personal itineraries of assistance, promotion and insertion through a socio-educational intervention.
The project is subsidized with 60.000 euros that will cover a total of 100 users. “This socio-educational support is essential to improve the vital and social conditions of the people who need it most and, therefore, we will continue to contribute to the CAIPSHO Project continuing to operate in the municipality,” stated Mercedes Díaz.
