The km.0 and del Sol fairs say goodbye to Ingenio with public success

The fairs of the Feria Km.0 Gran Canaria – Sureste and the Feria del Sol exceeded expectations this weekend and received more than 10.000 people, who came to Ingenio to learn about and acquire the best sustainable products and services in the region .

 

 

Fifty agri-food producers occupied the Plaza de la Candelaria with quality local products, which attendees were able to taste and buy at the km.0 Fair organized by Elipse Gestión de Eventos and the Mancomunidad del Sureste. Below the square, companies that offer the latest technologies in renewable energy and sustainable mobility, showed their services and informed citizens about products that allow them to be more efficient and sustainable.

 

As a novelty in this edition, attendees had the opportunity to try the typical Ingenio bread soup, a dish little known in the rest of the island, but with a great tradition in this municipality in the Southeast. Several restaurants included this dish in their menus in their eagerness to recover and extend this local tradition.

 

The guided tours through the historic center of Ingenio were also innovative: 130 people participated in three visits organized by the km.0 Fair and the local Tourism area and entered the streets with the most history in the municipality.

 

The km.0 and del Sol fairs, held simultaneously for another year, have been a magnificent showcase to raise awareness among the population about the importance of being sustainable, both through the consumption of kilometer zero agri-food products, as well as in the use of renewable energies and sustainable vehicles.

 

The meetings held this weekend have been the prelude to the celebration of the next Southeast Fair, which will take place between November 10 and 12 to give visibility to the farming, livestock, production and artisan families of the Southeast Region.
