The Sports Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council now has the new information brochure available to families in the municipality with all the activities offered during this 2023/2024 season by the sports schools of the municipality's clubs. The brochure, available at any of the municipal facilities, has become, year after year, an essential tool to help clubs promote their activities and, above all, to help parents who wish to enroll their children in the knowledge and practice of the sports offered by the different schools.
The document Sports Schools offers information on the different sports activities practicable in the towns of San Fernando de Maspalomas, El Tablero, Castillo del Romeral, Aldea Blanca, Juan Grande and El Pajar, and details the required ages, days and times, clubs that teach the classes and also information and contact telephone numbers for registration.
In San Fernando the sports that can be practiced are swimming, chess, athletics, climbing, basketball, dance, karate, goshin and self-defense, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics, urban dance, taekwondo, figure skating, judo, paddle tennis, tennis, weightlifting, paddle surfing, rugby and Canarian wrestling. El Tablero offers swimming, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating, soccer and urban dance. In El Castillo, Aldea Blanca and Juan Grande the sports disciplines offered are swimming, basketball, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics, Canarian wrestling, judo and urban dance, and in El Pajar rhythmic gymnastics is offered.
"The final objective of this brochure is to promote sports activity among children and young people of the municipality of school age, as a complement to their comprehensive training, because we understand that sports practice, in addition to developing their physical skills and abilities, helps them socialize and teaches them to respect the norms and rules necessary for coexistence and solidarity,” says Ramón Suárez.
