The Secretary of the Corporation informed the opposition that the mayor expressed her refusal to modify the date of the plenary session.
Three of the four opposition councilors, two from NC-BC and one from Psoe, will not be able to attend the plenary session on the 9th for work and personal reasons.
As established by the municipal organic regulations, the board of spokespersons is the body in charge of setting the date of holding the plenary sessions, but respecting the considerations that have been established in this regard both by the plenary session and by the document itself. In this way, ordinary sessions must be held on the last Friday of each month.
According to this information, the plenary session should have been held on September 29, the date that the councilors were counting on to plan their work agendas. However, the mayor chose to celebrate it on October 9, a decision that she applied using once again the roller of the majority of her.
Given this decision, the councilors of NC-BC and the PSOE of Mogán presented a letter on September 27 explaining the reasons why they could not attend the plenary session, and requesting the advancement of the session to October 5. In this sense, the socialist spokesperson, Artemi Artiles, expressed in the environmental information commission, held last Wednesday, that they would call the extraordinary and urgent plenary session, in order to comply with the request made by both political formations and encourage the participation of all. the councilors in the plenary session.
The Secretary of the Corporation stated that such an option was possible, but that the mayor had already informed him that she was not going to agree to the request. The government councilor, ErnestoHernández, explained that one of the reasons why October 9 was chosen was to have time to resolve the allegations of a budget modification. However, this made no sense since NC-BC, through councilor Juan Manuel Gabella, confirmed in the last plenary session that it would not make allegations to avoid a delay added to the government's mismanagement regarding the purchase. of security elements for the police he was referring to.
For both political formations, the mayor is not enough to limit, almost to the point of extinction, the speaking times of the opposition councilors, but she also plays with the holding times of the plenary sessions, without respecting the working circumstances of the councilors who do not receive any salary from public coffers.
Furthermore, this situation reveals, once again, the total lack of democratic spirit of Onalia Bueno, who imposes her will without dialogue, trampling on the rights of opposition councilors to participate in public affairs and therefore ignoring voters. of both formations.
Both parties will adopt all measures at their disposal to defend their rights, principles and democratic values.
