Long live free Brussels. Distriplan, owned by the French company Saint-Gobain, has purchased Aislamientos Termoacústicos Fuerteventura (Atefuer), which is a company closely linked to tourism in the south of Gran Canaria for supplying construction companies with insulation or products such as Pladur. The last operation that was known until now was the purchase of the peninsular Valls Company from Haricana's shareholder, the Montesano meat company.
Saint Gobain in this way is already protected by the AIEM, the tariff barrier promoted by industrial companies, a union that hardly represents an exotic factor in the Canary Islands economy because on the islands the real industry is marked by the sale of energy and the desalination of water. Distriplac consolidates its growth in the Canary Islands market with the acquisition of Atefuer, which is not known if it will change its name in its centers in Telde, La Laguna (Tenerife) and in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura).
The acquisition of Atefuer allows Distriplac to "strengthen its activity, expand coverage, provide a closer and more direct service in the Canary Islands, consolidating itself as a leading specialist in the distribution of construction systems and insulation." Distriplac will have 53 specialist centers throughout Spain and Portugal with more than 5.000 product references in stock of the best brands on the market for partitioning and ceiling systems, thermal-acoustic insulation, heat insulation, passive protection, waterproofing and accessories, more than 100 fleet vehicles, approximately 175.000 square meters of facilities and more than 460 people in the organization.
