CaixaBank has opened the call for a new edition of the 'Innovation and Modernization Awards for Hotels and Tourism Canary Islands', an initiative in which the financial entity joins the four largest associations in the sector in the Islands, Ashotel, Feht , Asolan and Asofuer, to recognize the Canarian tourism companies that have carried out the most relevant actions in the areas of 'Best Repositioning or Reform', 'Digital Transformation' and 'Best Responsibility Initiative'.
Fernando Matías, general secretary of the Feht, thanked CaixaBank this Monday for the institutionalization of these awards and the close collaboration it maintains with the sector and with tourism employers' associations, considering “it is an enormous success to reward three key points for companies in the sector, such as "They are the modernization of tourist establishments, digital transformation, as well as environmental innovation and social responsibility."
This eighth edition of the awards was presented this Monday at the financial institution's headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with the participation of Manuel Afonso, territorial director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands; Andrés Guerra, commercial director of Business Banking; and a representation of the four tourist associations of the archipelago formed by Fernando Mathías, general secretary of the Feht, among others.
These awards are aimed at legal entities that carry out their activity in the field of the hotel or tourist accommodation sector in the Canary Islands, and that have made such improvements during the period 2019-2022. A jury made up of representatives of the financial entity and the four tourist associations will be in charge of evaluating different aspects such as the impact on the destination, the degree of innovation in the product or service offered, the customer experience, the implementation of new technologies. in different areas of the company, sustainability and respect
Applications can be submitted at the FEHT offices or at any branch of CaixaBank and its network of Business centers in the Canary Islands, until December 1, 2023. The winners of the different modalities will be announced at the next International Business Fair. Tourism (FITUR), which will be held in Madrid in January 2024.
