Ryanair, the number one airline in Spain and the one that schedules the most flights at Gran Canaria Airport, has announced this Tuesday, October 10, its 23/24 winter schedule for Gran Canaria with 34 routes, including increased frequencies in 15 routes to cities such as Berlin, Bristol, Budapest, Krakow and Milan. In addition, Ryanair welcomes 15 million passengers at Gran Canaria Airport since the start of its operations in 2009.
This morning, the Minister of Tourism of Gran Canaria, Carlos Álamo, accompanied Elena Cabrera, country manager of Ryanair for Spain and Portugal, in a presentation that took place at the Tourism headquarters of Gran Canaria. It was announced, among other factors, that Gran Canaria will have 34 routes in total; will also have an increase in frequencies on 15 routes, including Berlin, Bristol, Budapest, Krakow and Milan; more than 1.100 linked jobs; and traffic and customer volume will grow to reach 1,5 million passengers in 2024.
The airline's top executive in Spain said: "We are delighted to launch our largest winter schedule at Gran Canaria airport, as Ryanair continues to grow on the island, offering more options and the lowest fares to our customers/visitors of Gran Canaria for winter 23/24, with 34 routes, including increased frequencies to popular city break destinations such as Berlin, Budapest and Milan. For us, it is a pleasure to celebrate such an important milestone as reaching 15 million passengers transported through the Gran Canaria airport, bringing inbound tourism to the island while offering national and international connectivity to our Gran Canaria clients."
For his part, the Minister of Tourism of Gran Canaria, expressed his gratitude for the “ambitious” commitment that makes Gran Canaria a protagonist in the company's expansion policy, which offers important results for the destination in relation to a market British which is currently the main tourist sector according to the number of visitors.
