Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines confirmed this Thursday that it has appointed a new CEO in Samantha Stimpson, who has more than 25 years of commercial, operational and executive experience in the travel and hotel industry directing the tour operation business in markets such as Maspalomas. She joins from FTI Touristik, where she works as commercial director.
Based at the company's head office in Ipswich, Suffolk, Stimpson will take overall responsibility for the strategic development and management of the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, covering 220 on-site employees and more than 2 crew members across the fleet of three ocean cruise ships. Anette Olsen, CEO of Bonheur, said: “Samantha Stimpson brings a strategic mindset, extensive knowledge and management experience with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the travel industry.”
Samantha Stimpson herself declared that “to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is a company that I have known and admired for years. “I look forward to working with the organisation, bringing my skills and experience and continuing to enhance the strategy which is based on smaller, more elegant ships and exceptional experiences, underpinned by a culture that recognizes the importance of personalized and attentive service.” Her new position will begin no later than February 1, 2024.
