The Department of Sports opens a reservation list and asks users of the hiking program to communicate cancellations

The hiking and nature activities program of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has covered this Monday, in just two hours, from 8 to 10 in the morning, the quota of registrations planned for the first walk that it will organize next Saturday 28 October from Corvo to Moya passing through Los Tilos.

The resumption of 'San Bartolomé Camina' hiking is generating great expectations among its users after almost 4 years without activity. Its rescue by the Sports Department headed by the fourth deputy mayor, Ramón Suárez Ojeda, has been very well received.

Since its restitution was announced, the telephone numbers of the Sports administrative offices at the Maspalomas Stadium, the El Tablero Municipal Pavilion and at the Vicente del Bosque Sports City in Castillo del Romeral have received numerous calls inquiring about the program.

For this first walk, 50 places were offered. Registrations could be made in the morning from this Monday until 12.00:27 p.m. on Friday the 2th, but in just 14.00 hours they have been covered, generating a reserve list in case casualties are reported that can be replaced. In this sense, the activity coordination is asking that those who are ultimately unable to attend the call notify them before XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. on Friday.

The Department of Sports decided to restore the hiking program through a service contract with a specialized company, Cmueven, to respond to the large demand that this activity had before the previous municipal government decided to paralyze it.

This contract, with a cost of 13.200 euros, will allow five walks to be scheduled and organized before the end of the year. The second is scheduled for Saturday, November 4, from Fontanales to Montaña Alta de Guía.

The public tender for the hiking program provides said service with an expert guide and two mountain instructors on each of the five planned hikes, in addition to two toilets and an accompanying ambulance.

The Department of Sports is already working on drafting a technical document to call a new competition for the award of this service, which guarantees that its next editions can have an annual frequency.
