The Federation of Private Security Workers Union Sindical Obrera (FTSP-USO) union has won in the Supreme Court an appeal presented by the security company Cenpol and Eulen, which refused to consider the hiring of security guards as unfair dismissals during the confinement due to Covid19. In 2020, hundreds of illegal immigrants arrived in Mogán in canoes driven by Salvamento Marítimo.
The companies crossed contracts when subrogating the thirty security guard workers assigned to the surveillance and security service of the Canarias 50 immigrant reception center on the island of Gran Canaria. Cenpol's refusal to subrogate thirty security guard workers assigned to the surveillance and security service of the immigrant reception center constitutes collective dismissal, now void, and "those affected have the right to their immediate reinstatement, and to the receipt of the salaries left to receive from August 26, 2021".
Temporary accommodation in places, while resources were finished being enabled in spaces that depended on the State, took place at the Servatur Waikiki Complex, Vistaflor Hotel Center, Arguineguín Park Complex, Canaima Apartments at Meeting Point Puerto Rico, Pocillos Playa Hotel, Holiday Complex Puerto Calma Club, Holiday Club Vista Amadores and Vista Oasis Complex. Its management was entrusted to the Red Cross. The transfer to the so-called "stable resources" occurred gradually, as the adaptation of the different centers on the island took place.
The Red Cross contracted the surveillance and security service in the tourist accommodations with Eulen Seguridad and the state-owned Tragsa contracted the custody of the resources it managed with Ilunion (ONCE). Tragsa contracted the surveillance and security of the reception centers, once the transfer to them of the immigrants housed in hotel centers began, first with Eulen, and then with Cenpol Seguridad. In the documentation that Eulen sends to Cenpol for subrogation purposes, 55 workers appear on Eulen's workforce. Cenpol subrogates 25 workers.
